Ministries
Family
We are a family integrated church, that simply means that we keep our families together throughout the entire worship service. Too often the only time a family is together on Sunday is on the drive to and from church. It is our desire to model here at church, what we want our families to be doing at home during the week which is taking some time around the family table to read God’s word together and pray together as a family.
We believe that in order to build strong faithful families we have to spend time together as families and not separate from each other according to age on Sundays.
Children
God’s word tells us that parents are given the primary responsibility to train and teach their children. (Deuteronomy 6:6-8, Psalm 1:8) Fathers have the primary role of spiritual instruction for their kids. We want to encourage this by keeping the children with their parents during worship. This also serves as a model for the whole family during their times of worship during the week as a family. As families worship together during the week at home, the children are being trained to worship with their family together on Sundays.
Youth
We have no “youth program” at Grace & Truth, we don’t buy into the false belief that teenagers, “need their own space”, instead we encourage our young adults to participate in the worship service along with the rest of their family. This builds stronger bonds within the family and gives them responsibilities such as helping to care for their younger siblings. It also gives them an opportunity to learn form older men and women in the congregation through discipleship. (Titus 2:4)
Inreach / Benevolence
God’s word admonishes us to always be looking for ways we can serve and help our brothers and sisters in Christ. It is our desire to look to meet the needs of the members of our own local body of believers first, and if those needs are being met, to reach out to others with our resources to show the love of Christ through acts of kindness and good works. (Titus 2:14)
Outreach / Evangelism
The biblical mandate to go and make disciples (Matthew 28:19) is an important aspect of every church. At Grace & Truth we believe we are to start at home with our own children, then reach out to the community at large with the message of salvation. We look for ways to be involved in community activities and events to be a representative for Christ in our communities.
